Fortuna, the Roman Goddess of luck and fortune has been at one time or another praised or cursed by almost everyone. So quick man is to reproach her when things do not go their way, to place the blame on her shoulders, using her as a scapegoat for what is often their own failings. How quickly they forget the many times she has blessed them with luck when one small thing goes wrong. Yet despite their curses and angry words, they can not turn away from her, chance and luck are so much a part of their lives that it keeps them enthralled.
